STEM Educational Exchange Program: Discover Jiangsu, China

Igniting Global Possibilities for Underrepresented Youth


The STEM Educational Exchange Program offers low-income middle and high school students the chance to travel internationally and expand their cultural and academic horizons. After successful learning journeys to Hawaii and Costa Rica, our 2025 destination is Jiangsu Province, China — a hub of history, innovation, and international education.


Why This Program Matters

This is more than just a trip — it’s a life-changing journey into global citizenship, leadership, and STEM exploration. Our goal is to empower students from historically underrepresented communities with access to international learning experiences that build confidence, cultural awareness, and academic ambition.


Program Overview

  • Location: Jiangsu, China (Nanjing, Changzhou, Shanghai)
  • Dates: Late September or October 2025
  • Duration: 8–10 Days
  • Cost: $500 (with sponsorships available)
  • Group Size: 20–30 students
  • Chaperone Ratio: 1 adult per 8–10 students

Eligibility
Middle & high school students from underserved communities, as well as college-level STEM students from UF, FIU, MIT, and other institutions.

Academic & STEM Highlights

  • Robotics & AI workshops at Changzhou No. 1 High School and Changzhou University
  • Academic exchange with students and faculty from:
  • Nanjing University of Science and Technology
    • Changzhou Institute of Technology
  • Joint robotics challenge games with U.S. and Chinese teams
  • Industry tours of leading companies like BYD and Li Auto, where students will explore:
    • EV manufacturing
    • Blade battery innovation
    • China’s global leadership in sustainable transportation
  • Tours of iconic historical sites:
    • Ming Dynasty City Wall
    • Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum
    • Nanjing Aviation Martyrs Memorial
  • Cultural activities:
    • Cooking class
    • Lantern-making & paper-cutting
    • Mandarin language basics (e.g., 谢谢 / xièxie – thank you)

We emphasize respectful engagement, including dress guidelines, cultural etiquette, and photo protocols.

  • 24/7 support by program organizers and local partners
  • Secure accommodations at 4-star hotels
  • Air-conditioned, licensed transportation
  • Emergency plans for health, weather, and logistics
  • China's gun-free and drug-free environment ensures exceptional safety for students

What You’ll Need:

  • Valid U.S. passport (apply at least 3 months in advance)
  • Application form + first passport page
  • Two installment payments (dates TBA)

Need a passport?
First-time applicants will need to complete Form DS-11 and apply in person. Expedited processing recommended.
